Preface
Congratulations on your purchase of the ZyXEL VSG-1000 Vantage Service Gateway.
The VSG-1000 Vantage Service Gateway is designed to provide Internet access to computers on a network with
broadband service. Subscribers enjoy easy Internet connectivity with no extra configuration. In addition, you can
set up basic billing functions and a subscriber database on the VSG-1000 to simplify management.
General Syntax Conventions
• “Enter” means for you to type one or more characters and press the carriage return. “Select” or “Choose”
means for you to use one from the predefined choices.
• For brevity’s sake, we will use “e.g.” as shorthand for “for instance”, and “i.e.” as shorthand for “that is” or “in
other words” throughout this manual.
• The “,” notation indicates the sequence in which menus should be selected; for example “click Window , Tile ”
means you first click the Windows menu and then Tile .
•
The ZyXEL VSG-1000 Vantage Service Gateway may be referred to as the VSG in this user’s guide.
