About Your Bridge/Router
Congratulations on your purchase of the Prestige 153 or Prestige 153X WAN Bridge/Router.
The Prestige 153/153X is a high-performance bridge/router that offers a complete solution for
your WAN applications such as Internet access for the corporate office, multi-protocol LAN-to-
LAN connections, telecommuting and remote access. Your Prestige 153/153X bridge/router is the
ideal high-speed Internet Access solution for your whole office.
The Prestige 153/153X is a universal router that can connect over PSTN (Public Switch
Telephone Network) and ISDN (Integrated Service Digital Network) lines. The Prestige
153/153X can accommodate both TCP/IP and Novell IPX protocols to provide multi-protocol
routing and transparent bridging. Your Prestige is also compatible with routers from other
manufacturers such as Ascend, Cisco, and 3Com.
Your Prestige 153/153X is easy to install and to configure since you do not need to set any switch.
All functions of the Prestige 153/153X are software configurable via the SMT (System
Management Terminal) Interface. The SMT Interface is a menu-driven software easily accessible
from either a VT100 compatible terminal or a terminal emulation program on a PC.
Versatile and packed with a number of advanced features the Prestige 153/153X is designed to
provide the networking solutions adapted to your needs.
