9.6 Passthrough
Use this screen to change your NBG7815’s ALGs and VPN pass-through settings. Click
Settings
>
Internet
>
Passthrough
to show the following screen.
ALG Overview
Application Layer Gateway (ALG) allows the following applications to operate properly through the
NBG7815’s NAT.
• SIP – Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) – An application-layer protocol that can be used to create voice
and multimedia sessions over Internet.
• H.323 – A teleconferencing protocol suite that provides audio, data and video conferencing.
• FTP – File Transfer Protocol – an Internet file transfer service.
• SNMP - Simple Network Management Protocol – An application-layer protocol that can be used to
exchange management information between network devices.
• RTSP – Real Time Streaming Protocol – An application-layer protocol that can be used to stop, pause
or play video and audio applications streaming on the Internet.
• IRC – Internet Relay Chat – An application-layer protocol that can control the relay chat applications
and allow clients to have real-time communications with others on the Internet.
The ALG feature is only needed for traffic that goes through the NBG7815’s NAT.

Select a pre-defined service from the drop-down list box. The pre-defined service
port numbers and protocol will be displayed in the port forwarding summary table.

to manually enter the port number/range and select

Protocol
Select the transport layer protocol supported by this virtual server. Choices are
TCP
,
UDP
, or
TCP_UDP
.
If you have chosen a pre-defined service in the
Service Name
field, the protocol will
be configured automatically.
External Port
This shows the port number used to connect to this service using the router's external
IP address on the WAN.
If you select
User-Define
in the
Service Name
field, enter the port numbers manually.
Device List
Select the internal IP address of the virtual server.
Internal Port
This shows the port number used to connect to this service using the server's internal
IP address on the LAN.
If you select
User-Define
in the
Service Name
field, enter an internal port number
manually or leave the field blank for port range forwarding.
APPLY
Click
APPLY
to save your changes.
CANCEL
Click
CANCEL
to exit this screen without saving.
