4.5 System operation considerations
ZIGOR SOLAR HIT3C systems have an autonomous control in which direct intervention is not required. These
systems have a number of functions that require special attention:
•
Sending a text message. This function requires that the telephone MODEM option be installed. The system
sends a text message to the telephone number configured in the case of serious or severe events.
•
Sending an e-mail. This function requires that an Ethernet line be installed The system sends e-mails to the
address set up in the case of serious or severe events.
•
Photovoltaic input optimal range, the photovoltaic field should be sized to match the maximum power point
inside the range, in this way the available energy in PV panels is correctly handled. When the maximum power
point of the photovoltaic field is outside the voltage range, the system will be working, but it is not going to be
handling the PV energy in an optimized way. In the case that the system is supporting in the AC input power,
the optimal range of the PV input voltage is extended to the full range of PV input.
•
The management of the energy flow is automatic and always follows the same sequence. Order of the available
energy consumption:

Energy stored in the battery
Grid or GENSet energy
•
The management of the GENSet is done automatically by the system using a potential free contact. It is
consumed only the minimum energy required, adding to the available solar energy. When the system needs the
energy provided by the grid or the GENSet, the battery is charge depending on the internal parameters.
•
The ZIGOR SOLAR HIT3C control system is only available to manage the energy as it has been explained, it
is not possible to select the order of the available energy.
4.6 Battery charger
The ZIGOR SOLAR HIT3C systems manage the battery charger automatically controlled by the parameters
configured in the system. These parameters allow the customization of the charge manager of the battery, as long as
there is enough energy in the system inputs, whether it is AC or PV; otherwise the charging process is stopped.
There are two charging regimes:
•
Floating charge.
•
Periodic and fast manual charge.
These parameters are accessible through the “Parameters” menu described below.
