1 About these Installation Requirements

This document describes the location requirements for the installation of the LSM 900. Here-
inafter referred to as Microscope System.

It helps to determine a suitable location within facilities and to prepare the location before deliv-
ery of the Microscope System. The suitability of a location depends on various factors such as:

§

Room size

§

Floor stability

§

Environmental conditions

§

Availability of supplies

The room size should be able to accommodate the Microscope System as well as potential acces-
sories and 3rd party systems that may be attached to the Microscope System. For servicing the
equipment, adequate access space is also required. The selected location should conform with the
correct environmental conditions to ensure the safe and ideal operation of the Microscope System
and its application whilst still ensuring the safety and comfort of the operators. Environmental
conditions are often influenced by surrounding installed systems or activities. We can distinguish
between:

§

Vibrations

§

Acoustic noise

§

Room temperature

§

Air quality

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the conditions specified in this document are met
and that the required equipment is available before delivery and installation. A ZEISS service repre-
sentative will gladly assist you in examining the installation conditions and suitable measures.
