6.
Operation
6.1.
Preliminary checks
Before starting the system, please check that:
1.
The HYD-ES inverter is securely fixed to the mounting bracket;
2.
The PV+/PV- cables are securely connected, and the polarity and voltage are correct;
3.
The BAT+/BAT- cables are securely connected, and the polarity and voltage are correct;
4.
The GRID/LOAD cables are securely/correctly connected;
5.
An AC switch is correctly connected between the HYD-ES inverter’s GRID port and grid, and the switch is
OFF;
6.
An AC switch is correctly connected between the HYD-ES inverter’s LOAD port and the critical load, and
the switch is OFF;
7.
The communication cable for lithium batteries has been correctly connected.
6.2.
Initial set up (follow carefully)
IMPORTANT: PLEASE FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE carefully to turn on the HYD-ES inverter
1.
Open the AC switch between the GRID port of the HYD-ES inverter and the grid.
2.
Open the AC switch between the LOAD port of the HYD-ES inverter and the critical load.
3.
Turn the DC circuit breaker to the OFF position so that there is no PV production.
4.
Switch on the batteries:
In the case of Pylontech batteries, turn ON the switch located on the front of all the batteries and make
sure that the green LED underneath lights up; then press for one second the red SW button of only one
battery. The LEDs of all the connected batteries will light up and then go out, while the green RUN LED will
stay on with a steady or flashing light.

In the case of Tawaki Maui batteries, set the POWER button to the ON position, making sure that the L8
(Mod. RACK 17002) or L1 (Mod. MAUI 17012) indicating light is on; if the L8 or L1 light is off, immediately
switch off the battery pack.
