Updating Firmware from an SD Card

Locate the .img update file from Z3 and copy it to your computer.

Place an SD Card into your computer

(2)

*Note:

The SD Card needs to be 32GB or less to properly work with ZWriter.

Open the ZWriter Windows program provided by Z3.

Select the .img file.

(4)

Specify your SD Card as the location to write to.

(5)

*Note:

This will cause wherever you specify to be overwritten. There is no recovery once you hit

“Write Device.”

When ZWriter is finished, eject the SD Card from your computer.

Place the SD Card in the socket on the Z3-MVE-20.

Power on the system. The update may take several minutes. It is possible to view the update

occurring via an optional serial interface (for details on this, please contact Z3).

The system will begin updating the flash.

Once the update is complete, the system will automatically reboot.

(10)

Power off the Z3-MVE-20.

(11)

Remove the SD Card.

(12)

Note:

If you do not remove the SD Card, another update will occur the next time you reboot.

Turn the system back on. The update is now complete.
