SECTION 7 – MAINTENANCE
When inspecting and maintaining the absorption chill-
er-heater, note the following:
• Never splash water over the electrical parts in-
stalled in the control panel and absorption chiller-
heater.
• Do not change the set values of the control de-
vices and safety switches without permission.
• Do not turn the internal cycle control valve of the
absorption chiller-heater without permission.
• When you replace the oil in the vacuum pump, be
sure to turn OFF the main circuit breaker (MCB1)
in the control panel.
EXHAUST DUCT INSPECTION
Inspect the waste exhaust gas duct periodically to
check for an exhaust gas leak. Failure to do this can
starve the unit of the oxygen it needs to operate safely.
If you smell gas, do NOT operate the machine or
change any of the settings until the smell goes away.
Fire may result.
VALVE INSPECTION
The chiller-heater is equipped with a refrigerant man-
ual blow valve (V2) that blows refrigerant from the re-
frigerant tank to the absorber.
The valve must not be tampered with or have its set-
tings changed. Daily maintenance and inspection is the
only reason to touch the valve.
During service and maintenance work, be
sure to turn OFF the main circuit breaker
(MCB1). If you do not, it may cause elec-
tric shock or a burn.
Contact your local Johnson Controls
Service Office for inspection and main
-
tenance of the machine. Improper in-
spection and maintenance can cause a
machine problem or injure workers.
SOLENOID VALVES
The absorption chiller-heater is equipped with the fol-
lowing solenoid valves.

PUMP SHUT OFF VALVES
The chiller-heater is equipped with pump shut off
valves. They are used for inspection of the pumps.
If the absorption chiller-heater is operated with incor-
rect valve settings, the pump may be damaged. Do
NOT tamper with the valves.
AIR PURGE VALVES AND DRAIN VALVES
The chiller-heater is equipped with air purge valves
and drain valves for chilled / hot water, cooling water,
and waste hot water. They are used to drain the chilled
/ hot water, the cooling water, and the waste hot water.
They are also used purge air when water is supplied.
PURGE VALVES
The chiller-heater is equipped with the purge valves
and
. For operation of the valves, see the
