(4) Replacement of Thermal Elements

Zero adjustment screw
1. Turn set knob until setting index read exactly
to 100% of scale, and remove measurement
pointer.
2. Remove two screws holding scale (when
reinstalling scale, align 100% point of scale with
setting index).
3. Remove two screws holding element mounting
plate.
4. Remove link between thermal element and
control unit.
5. Remove screws holding derivative and reset
units to brackets. Being careful not to pinch or
crimp their tubing, remove both units.

6. Loosen screws holding derivative and reset
brackets, remove brackets.
7. Remove three screws holding connector plate
to case, and pull connector down with hand.
8. Remove seal plate from slit of case by pushing
forward with finger.

9. After bending capillary tubes carefully along
bottom of case, install replacement element at
original position. Connect element assembly to
control unit using factory-set link supplied with
element.

10. Reinstall other components in reverse order of
removal, and then adjust measurement pointer
to 0% of scale using zero adjustment screw.
