1. Handling Cautions
This chapter provides important information on
how to handle the MC43 Pneumatic Indicating
Controller. Read this chapter carefully before
using the MC43 controller. The MC43 controller is
thoroughly tested at the factory before shipment.
When taking delivery of an instrument, visually
check them to make sure that no damage occurred
during shipment.
1.1 Model, Specifications, and
Accesorries Check
The model name and specifications are written on
the data plate attached to the back side of the door.
Also check that packings are included for T1A
temperature element.
1.2 Storage
The following precautions must be observed when
storing the instrument, especially for a long period.
(a) Keep the instrument in its original packaging.
(b) Select a storage area which meets the following
conditions:
• It is not exposed to rain or subject to water
seepage/leaks.
• Vibration and shock are kept to a minimum.
• It has an ambient temperature and relative
humidity within the following ranges.
Ambient temperature: −30 to 80˚C
Relative humidity: 0% to 100%R.H.
Preferred temperature and humidity:
approx. 25˚C and 65%R.H.
1.3 Selecting the Installation
Location
The MC43 controller is designed to withstand
severe environment conditions. However, to ensure
that it will provide years of stable and accurate
performance, take the following precautions when
selecting the installation location.
(a) Ambient Temperature
Avoid locations subject to wide temperature
variations or a significant temperature gradient.
If the location is exposed to radiant heat from
plant equipment, provide adequate thermal
insulation and/or ventilation.
(b) Ambient Atmosphere
Do not install the MC43 controller in a corrosive
atmosphere. If this cannot be avoided, there
must be adequate ventilation.
