11.8 Routine Maintenance
1.
Make sure that the instrument is turned off.
2.
Open the cover of the OTDR port or light source port (option).
3.
Remove the optical adapter.
For instructions, see “Replacing the Optical Adapter” in the Getting Started Guide, IM AQ1210-02EN.
4.
Use a lens cleaner to clean the optical fiber end face.
5.
Insert the lens cleaner slowly into the optical adapter’s optical connector and turn the lens
cleaner to clean the inner walls.

Note
• Use a lens cleaner that does not produce fuzz or residue to clean the optical components.
• The OTDR port or light source port can be cleaned with a stick type lens cleaner with the optical adapter
attached, but we recommend that you remove the optical adapter to clean it.
