
8.1.1 Start and end of program
Start VIP
remote
via the Windows Start Menu program entries. If you wish VIP
con
to be started via the
Windows Explorer: the name of the program file is “VIPremote.EXE“ (the default installation path is
C:\Program files\Yellowtec\VIPdigital …).
Note: In Offline mode VIP
remote
and VIP
con
can be active at the same time. In Online-mode they will
collide when they try to connect to the same VIP
digital
. If you have worked with VIP
con
before, exit
this program first.
8.1.2 Offline
mode
During start-up VIP
remote
scans the serial ports of your PC for a connected VIP
digital
. If no unit is
found, the following dialog will appear:

Click on the YES button to start VIP
remote
offline. In the Offline mode, for example, you may create,
edit and save preset files.
In addition, this mode is suitable for a familiarization or for demonstration purposes.

Note: Be aware that VIP
remote
only scans the serial ports during start-up. The connecting in between
your VIP
digital
and your PC has to be established

8.1.3 Online
mode
In Online mode you can save presets to your VIP
digital
and to SmartCard. Or your can load presets
from VIP
digital
and SmartCard into VIP
remote
, edit them and save them to your PC.
As soon as you click on a preset in the
Internal Presets
list or the
SmartCard Presets
list, your
VIP
digital
switches to
Remote Control
operation. VIP
remote
then functions as a remote control for
your VIP
digital.
The VIP
digital
operator controls are deactivated, and your VIP
digital
display shows
Remote Control
. In
addition, the status LED
NT
lights up in the
Level Indicator Field
.
