Check and Adjust the
Alternator Belt
1. Check the belt by pushing on the
middle of the belt
(Figure 10, (1))
with
your finger, exerting a force of
approximately 98 N, 10 kgf (22 lbf).
With proper tension, the belt should
deflect 8 - 10 mm (0.315 - 0.393 in.).

2. If the belt deflection is not to
specification, see your authorized
Yanmar dealer or distributor for belt
replacement.
Check Electronic Management
System (EMS) Operation
Check for fault codes. Refer to separate
manual provided by digital display
manufacturer.
Adjust Propeller Shaft
Alignment
Refer to reverse gear manufacturer
literature for alignment procedure.

ENTANGLEMENT
HAZARD!
• Stop the engine before you
begin to service it.
• NEVER leave the key in the key
switch when you are servicing
the engine. Someone may
accidentally start the engine
and not realize you are
servicing it. This could result
in a serious injury.
• If you must service the engine
while it is operating, remove all
jewelry, tie back long hair, and
keep your hands, other body
parts and clothing away from
moving / rotating parts.
• Failure to comply could result
in death or serious injury.

CAUTION
Be careful not to get any oil on
the belt(s). Oil on the belt causes
slipping and stretching. Replace
the belt if it is damaged.
