6SY Operation Manual

Drain or Replace the Fuel Filter Element

Figure 13

1. Close the fuel tank cock.

2. Loosen the drain plug. Drain off any

water or dirt.

3. Clean the outside of the filter and

remove it by turning it
counterclockwise.

4. Install a new filter and hand-tighten.

5. Drain the fuel filter / water separator.

See Drain or Replace the Fuel Filter /
Water Separator on page 91.

CAUTION

If the fuel filter / water separator
is positioned higher than the fuel
level in the fuel tank, water may
not drip out when the fuel
filter / water separator drain cock
is opened. If this happens, turn
the air vent screw on the top of
the fuel filter / water separator
2-3 turns counterclockwise.

Be sure to tighten the air vent
screw after the water has drained
out.
