6. Clean the oil strainer and oil filter with sol-
vent.
7. Check the O-ring for damage and re-
place it if necessary.
8. Install the oil filter, O-ring, oil filter cover,
oil strainer, compression spring and drain
bolt. Tighten the drain bolt to the speci-
fied torque.
CAUTION:

Before installing the drain bolt, be sure to
install the O-ring, compression spring and
oil strainer.

9. Fill the engine with oil, and then install the
dipstick.
CAUTION:

Be sure no foreign material enters the
crankcase.

Tightening torque:
Drain bolt (engine):
32 Nm (3.2 m·kg, 23 ft·lb)
Filter cover bolt:
8 Nm (0.8 m·kg, 6.0 ft·lb)
Recommended oil:
See page 10-2.
Oil quantity:
Periodic oil change:
2.9 L (2.6 Imp qt, 3.1 US qt)
With oil filter replacement:
3.0 L (2.6 Imp qt, 3.2 US qt)
Total amount:
3.5 L (3.1 Imp qt, 3.7 US qt)
