MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE TABLE
This chapter includes all information required for carrying out the recommended preventive
inspection and adjustment procedures that, when observed, ensure a reliable operation and
longer service life of the vehicle. The need for an expensive overhaul service will be substantially
reduced. This information applies to vehicles in service, as well as new vehicles being prepared
for sale. All technicians engaged on services should be familiarized with this whole chapter.

Carrying out an appropriate periodic maintenance is essential. Maintenance services
concerning pollutant emission control are specially important. These services not only
ensure a cleaner air but are also essential for achieving better engine operation and maximum
efficiency. The pollutant emission control services are listed in a single table as follows.

From 4,200 mi. (7,000 km) or 9 months, repeat the maintenance intervals at each 1,800 mi
(300 km) or 3 months.

Check the conditions.
Adjust the clearance and clean

Check and adjust the valve clearance with the engine
cold.

Clean with solvent.
If necessary, replace.

Case breather

Inspect ducts for cracks and damage and remove any
deposits. If necessary, replace.

Carburetor*
Check the idle speed and the choke operation. If
necessary, adjust.
7.
Exhaust system
Check for leakage. If necessary, tighten or replace the
gaskets.
8.
Engine oil
Replace. (Warm the engine up before draining the oil.)
9.
Oil filter
Clean.
