REMOVING THE DRIVE SHAFT
Loosen:
• Pinion nut
NOTE:
• First, loosen the drive shaft housing
assembly bolts. Then, pull up the drive
shaft and insert the pinion nut holder.
• Retighten the drive shaft housing assem-
bly bolts and then loosen the pinion nut.
INSPECTING THE PINION
Inspect:
• Teeth
Damage/wear
→
Replace.

INSTALLING THE DRIVE SHAFT
Tighten:
• Pinion nut
NOTE:
• Tighten the pinion nut with the same tools
that were used for removal.
• Tighten the pinion nut while slightly lifting
the inner propeller shaft assembly
