BRAKE FLUID LEVEL
Place the machine on a level surface. Check
that the brake fluid is above the lower level and
replenish when necessary.
a Lower level
Recommended brake fluid:
DOT4
Be careful that water does not enter the mas-
ter cylinder when refilling. Water will signifi-
cantly lower the boiling point of the fluid and
may result in vapor lock.
If the brake fluid level goes down, consult a
Yamaha dealer.
Brake fluid may deteriorate painted sur-
faces or plastic parts. Never spill any fluid. If
any is spilled, clean it up immediately.
BRAKE FLUID REPLACEMENT
Brake fluid replacement is necessary when the
following components are replaced during the
periodic maintenance or if they are damaged or
leaking.
a.
All rubber seals of the master cylinder and
caliper cylinder
b.
The brake system hose
Be sure the brake fluid and the above parts
are replaced by a Yamaha dealer.
