ENGINE OIL
Use a combination of the recommended SAE
and API oil classifications shown in the chart be-
low.

Use only 4-stroke engine oil.

Engine oil also lubricates the starter
clutch. In order to prevent clutch slip-
page, do not mix any chemical additives
with the oil or use oils of a higher grade
than “CD”. In addition, do not use oils la-
beled “ENERGY CONSERVING II” or hig-
er.
ENGINE OIL LEVEL
The engine oil level should be checked before
each use.
Do not run the engine with too much or not
enough oil in the oil tank. Oil could flow into
the air filter case and the engine could be
damaged.
Checking the engine oil level
1.
Place the snowmobile on a level surface
and apply the parking brake.

Start the engine, warm it up for 10 – 15 min-
utes, and then turn it off.

Disconnect the oil level gauge coupler

Disconnect the oil level gauge coupler be-
fore removing the oil level gauge / dipstick.
Otherwise the cable can twist and become
severed.
4.
Remove the oil level gauge/dipstick

wipe it clean, insert it back into the filler hole
(without screwing it in), and then remove it
again to check the oil level.
