REMOVING THE FINAL DRIVE ROLLER
BEARINGS
1. Remove:
• roller bearing (ring gear)

Use a suitable press tool

and an appro-
priate support for the main housing.
2. Remove:
• roller bearing (final drive pinion gear)

a. Heat the main housing only to 150 °C
(302 °F).
b. Remove the roller bearing outer race with
an appropriately shaped punch

c. Remove the inner race from the final drive
pinion gear.
TIP:
The removal of the final drive pinion gear roller
bearing is difficult and seldom necessary.
