Symptoms
Open or short circuit in the throttle position sensor detected.


Do not remove the sensor module.

1 Connection of throttle position
sensor coupler.
Check the locking condition of
the coupler.
Disconnect the coupler and
check the pins (bent or broken
terminals and locking condition
of the pins). Defective connections

Re-
connect or replace the harness.
Turn the main switch to “ON”,
and then check the condition of
the fault code in diagnostic
mode of the Yamaha diagnostic
tool.
Condition is Recovered

Go to
item 7 and finish the service.
Condition is Detected

Go to
item 2.
2 Connection of main harness
ECU coupler.
Check the locking condition of
the coupler.
Disconnect the coupler and
check the pins (bent or broken
terminals and locking condition
of the pins). Defective connections

Re-
connect or replace the harness.
Turn the main switch to “ON”,
and then check the condition of
the fault code in diagnostic
mode of the Yamaha diagnostic
tool.
Condition is Recovered

Go to
item 7 and finish the service.
Condition is Detected

Go to
item 3.
3 Harness continuity Open or short circuit

Replace
the harness.
ECU - TPS (sensor output)
Note: In the case of P0122,
check the following:
ECU - TPS (sensor power sup-
ply)
Note: In the case of P0123,
check the following:
ECU - TPS (sensor ground)
Turn the main switch to “ON”,
and then check the condition of
the fault code in diagnostic
mode of the Yamaha diagnostic
tool.
Condition is Recovered

Go to
item 7 and finish the service.
Condition is Detected

Go to
item 4.
4 Installed condition of sensor. Check the installation part for
looseness, stuck places, or diffi-
culties in installing.
Check if the mounting position
is OK.
Refer to “Throttle body, Fuel in-
jector”.
Turn the main switch to “ON”,
and then check the condition of
the fault code in diagnostic
mode of the Yamaha diagnostic
tool.
Condition is Recovered

Go to
item 7 and finish the service.
Condition is Detected

Go to
item 5.
