CLEANING THE SPARK ARRESTER
1. Clean:
•
Spark arrester
•
Select a well-ventilated area free of com-
bustible materials.
•
Always let the exhaust system cool before
performing this operation.
•
Do not start the engine when removing the
tailpipe from the muffler.
a. Remove the bolts .
b. Remove the tailpipe and gasket from
the muffler.
c. Tap the tailpipe lightly with a soft-face ham-
mer or suitable tool, then use a wire brush
to remove any carbon deposits from the
spark arrester portion of the tailpipe and the
inner contact surfaces of the muffler.
d. Insert the tailpipe and gasket into the muffler.
e. Install the bolts and tighten it.
