BALANCER GEARS AND OIL PUMP GEARS
INSTALLING THE BALANCER DRIVE GEAR
AND BALANCER DRIVEN GEAR
1. Install:
• pins
• springs
• balancer drive gear
(onto the buffer boss)
• plate
• circlip
NOTE:
Align the punch mark
a
on the balancer drive
gear with the hole
b
to the buffer boss.
2. Install:
• balancer driven gear
NOTE:
Align the punch mark
a
on the balancer drive
gear with the punch mark
b
on the balancer
driven gear.
3. Install:
• lock washer
• balancer driven gear nut

NOTE:
• Place an aluminum plate

between the
teeth of the balancer drive gear

and bal-
ancer driven gear
4
.
• Apply the molybdenum disulfide grease to
the thread of axle and nut.
4. Bend the lock washer tabs along the bal-
ancer driven gear nut.
