4.3 AIR CHAIN HOIST wITH TROLLEY
The trolleys are supplied pre-assembled; they are designed for beam
width A or B which is specified on the identity plate. Before installation en-
sure that the track girder is within the required girder range (see Tab. 1).
4. ASSEMBLY
4.1 INSPECTIONS BEFORE ASSEMBLY
• Check for transport damage
• Check for completeness
• Check that the load capacity data on hoist and bottom block match
4.2 AIR CHAIN HOIST wITH HOOK SuSPENSION
(Standard design)
The standard Yale air chain hoist is fitted with a suspension hook. The
suspension hook is connected to the housing of the chain hoist by
means of two screws (CPA 1-13/2-10/5-5) or by means of two spring
pins (CPA 2-31/5-17/10-9). Independent of how the hoist is reeved, the
load hook must always be positioned vertically under the suspension
hook (Fig. 11).
Only applies to CPA 1-13/2-10/5-5
For single-fall operation, the suspension hook is fitted so that the hook
is on the left side when looking at the identity plate and on the right side
for two-fall operation (Fig. 12).
Fitting the trolley 1 – 3 t (see Fig. 13)
1. Loosen nut (item 2) and unscrew it from the crossbar (item 1). Remove
both side plates (item 6).
2. Measure the flange width dimension “b” of the beam.
3. Adjustment/presetting of dimension “B”:
Dimension “X” should be approx. 2,5 – 3 mm on each side. Evenly
distribute the washers (item 3) on both sides of the crossbar accord-
ingly. Note that it is necessary to start with the side where the screw
head is seated. At least one washer must be inserted between the
screw head, the crossbar (item 8) and the side plate. This also applies
later for the other side where the nut (2) is fitted.
Note:
Failure to do this could cause the trolley to fall when handled
incorrectly!

• Loads must not be turned in normal operation. If loads must be turned
in normal operation, an anti-twist swivel must be provided and/or the
manufacturer must be consulted. When turning a lifted load the load
chain must not rotate in any circumstances.
• Never attach more than one load lifting attachment to the load hook
of the hoist or trolley.
Attention:
The load lifting attachment must be suitable for the ATEX
zone too.
