Leakage or freeflow
from the second stage
Crown orifice (13) is not adjusted properly
Drive crown in CW until leak stops. Make sure
that the lever does not drop below the rim of
the case
Adj knob (26) turned all the way out; spring
too relaxed
Turn adjustment knob CW. If it takes more
than 1 revolution, replace the spring
MP seat (20) is worn or damaged
Replace MP seat with new
Crown orifice (13) sealing surface is damaged
or not true
Replace crown orifice with new
Scratch inside the balance chamber (24)
Replace balance chamber with new
Poppet stem o-rings (22) not sealing on inside
wall of balance chamber
Replace poppet stem o-rings with new
The lever (19) is bent
Replace lever
Low purge flow
Lever (19) too low
Back out crown orifice CCW until the lever is
up against the back of the diaphragm
Lever (19) bent
Replace lever
Excessive breathing
resistance
Adjusting knob (26) in too far
Back out adjusting knob (26)
Lever (19) is bent
Replace lever
MP too low
Make sure that MP is between 130 and 145
psi / 9-10 bar
Lever too low
Back out crown orifice CCW until the lever is
up against the back of the diaphragm
Breathes wet or water
enters 2nd stage
The mouthpiece (3) is cut or torn. Inspect
under the zip tie (2)
Replace the mouthpiece
Venturi reflector o-ring (15) is missing,
damaged or improperly seated
Replace the o-ring
One of the two valve housing o-rings (6) are
missing, worn or dirty
Replace o-rings
Adj knob o-ring (25) is missing or damaged
Replace with new
Main housing (1) is cracked or damaged
Replace main housing
Inhalation diaphragm (9) is damaged
Replace with new
Inhalation diaphragm (9) is improperly seated
into the main housing
Remove front cover, reseat the diaphragm
Exhaust valve (4) is damaged
Replace with new
