B. Add o-ring (6) to the valve housing (17)
i. Install a new o-ring (6) into the o-ring groove
on the valve housing (17)
C. Install the Poppet Assembly
i. Following the picture closely, orient the
sockets of the poppet (21) as shown.
ii. Insert the poppet assembly, low pressure
seat end first, into the wide end of the valve
housing (17).
iii. When the poppet (17) assembly is inserted
into the valve housing, it is important that the
“L” shaped sockets on the poppet (21) properly
engage the lever feet that extend through the
holes in the valve housing (17).
iv. Push the assembly as far as it will go. The
first thing that might hang up on the lever feet
is the orange rubber lp seat (20).
A little push on the assembly with the back
of the TL136 Multi-Purpose Tool will drive the
lp seat (20) past the lever feet and allow the
“L” shaped sockets to engage. When the
“L” shaped features on the poppet (21)
engage the lever feet, they will lift the lever
(19) upwards as you push the assembly in.
D. Install the adjusting knob (26)
i. Insert adjusting knob (26), o-ring side first,
just behind the poppet assembly, into the
valve housing (17). The lever (19) should now
have spring tension on it.
ii. Turn the adjusting knob (26) CW until the
hole for the retaining pin (18) is clear.
iii. Insert the retaining pin (18) into the retaining
pin hole. Make sure the retaining pin (18) is
centered between its two openings.
iv. While holding the retaining pin (18)
stationary, turn the adjusting knob (26) CCW
until it places tension on the retaining pin
(18). It should be lightly snug. If you unscrew
the adjusting knob (26) too forcefully, you could
bend the retaining pin (18), requiring that it be
replaced.
