5. FOR THE INSTALLER
5.1 Installation conditions
In order to determine whether the Xcell 350V EC BP can be installed in a certain area, the following
aspects must be taken into account:
• The Installation of the Xcell 350V EC BP must conform to the current IEE Regulations (UK), local or
appropriate regulations (other countries) and also according to the regulations of this manual.
• The place of installation must be chosen so that there is sufficient room around the unit for air duct
connections, intake and exhaust piping and in order to carry out maintenance work.
• The following must be available: air duct connections, electrical connection 230 Volt and facilities for
the condensation drain.
• The roof vents should be made airtight and damp-proof. The outside air intake duct and also the air
exhaust duct must be rendered damp-proof between the roof/wall vent and the Xcell 350V EC BP. This
prevents the formation of condensation on the outside of the ducts.
• A double-walled or insulated roof passage must be fitted to the air exhaust vent. This prevents the
formation of condensation between the roof boarding.
• The air exhaust duct must drain in the direction of the unit.
• The Xcell 350EC BP must be installed in a frost-free space. Condensation water should be drained
frost-free, at a gradient, using a siphon.
• A powered extractor hood must never be fitted to this system.
• We advise fitting both the intake and the exhaust connections of the WHR 930 with silencers directly
onto the unit.
An opening has purposely been left under the inside doors in order to ensure effective and draught-free
airflow in the house. If these openings are obstructed, due to draught excluders or even deep-pile
carpet, the airflow in the house will stagnate. The system will then no longer function at its best.
5.2 Installation of the Xcell 350V EC BP
4.2.1 Transport and unpacking
Take care when transporting and unpacking the unit.
Ensure that packaging materials are disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
