4.5 Frost protection
The inside air transfers its heat to the outside air within the heat exchanger. This cooling process can
create condensation in the heat exchanger. In periods of moderate to heavy frosts, the heat exchanger
must therefore be protected against frost-damage. The Xcell 350V EC BP is fitted as standard with a
fully automatic frost-protection system; an optional pre-heater may also be fitted. This is also regulated
fully automatically.
4.5.1 Standard frost protection
The Xcell 350V EC BP is fitted as standard with a frost-protection system that temporarily reduces the
outside air supply. This is done by reducing the speed of the intake fan. In the event of extreme cold,
the intake fan can be completely deactivated.
The frost protection system is regulated according to outside temperature, exhaust temperature and
time. The speed of the intake fan is reduced gradually so as not to cause discomfort to the user.
