7.1 Replacing Consumable
161
Important
• Make sure that the power is on when replacing the print cartridge. Switching the power off erases the
print data in the printer and information accumulated in the memory.
• Do not expose the print cartridge to direct sunlight or strong light.
• Avoid exposure to strong light when installing the print cartridge and complete the installation in less
than one minute.
• Do not touch the surface of the photoconductor (drum). Do not place the print cartridge upright or upside
down. Doing so can damage the photoconductor (drum).
• The photoconductor (drum) protection shutter protects the photoconductor (drum) from exposure to
light.
• Do not open the photoconductor (drum) protection shutter unless necessary.
• We recommend you to use up the print cartridge within one year after removing it from the packaging.
• Place the print cartridge only on a flat surface.
