Front Door and Tray Kit
The Front Door and Tray kit provides a new Front Door (MPT) Assembly, which contains most of the Tray 1
components. A new Front Door may be required if there is shipping damage or if paper jams occur frequently
when printing from Tray 1.

Replace Parts Lab
The best way to help customers install replacement parts is to have experience replacing them
yourself. If a printer is available, practice the following procedures by removing and then
reinstalling the parts listed below. Use the training CD-ROM’s
Resources
section to access
instruction sheets for each item.

Feed Roller Assembly and Retard Roller for the 525-Sheet Tray
■
Front Door (MPT) Assembly
Always turn the printer off before replacing the assembly. Replacing parts
when power is on can damage the assembly and the printer.
When installing the kit, observe the following practices:

After releasing the orange Front Door stay
retainers, note how they slide into place. The
stay retainers fall off easily.
■
Be sure to route the white cable below the
hook and seat it into the channel.
■
To reconnect the stay retainers, lift the cover to
about 45 degrees. Position one of the stay
retainers so it is over the white hook and laying
flat on the Front Cover. Push firmly to move the
stay retainer forward so it snaps into place.
Repeat this process to install the other stay
retainer.
Make sure the Stay Retainers are flat against the Front Cover. Push firmly
from the rear as shown to seat the retainers.
After completing this lab, turn on the printer if you plan to complete the
Service section of the training.
