Custom calibrations
Each default calibration file is made for a fixed camera configuration. It is not encouraged to
change the configuration, as this may significantly degrade the calibration quality. Additional
calibration files can be defined by the end users in Xeneth.
Following conditions are required to generate a good camera calibration:
•
A stable sensor temperature. This can be ensured in the Wildcat by enabling the
temperature control (see Chapter 5.1)
•
A completely dark scene. This may be achieved by simply placing the camera front
on a non-IR-emitting surface, completely covering the sensor.
•
A uniform flat field light scene.
Creating a new custom calibration
Configure the camera with the desired settings. Then go to
Calibration
– Calibrate camera
in the menu bar. This will open the
Camera calibration wizard
main menu.
This chapter will provide a brief overview of the wizard aimed at calibrating a Wildcat
camera. For the full range of wizard functionality, consult the Xeneth User Manual in the
Xeneth installation folder.
Select
Two point calibration
from the dropdown menu in the wizard and press
Next >.
