4. To remove any stubborn residue, sprinkle baking soda
directly on the area, scrub with a wet toothbrush (or other
soft-bristle brush), add water as required, and then rinse.
5. Reconnect the positive battery cable terminals to the
battery lugs and tighten.
6. Reconnect the negative battery cable terminals to the
battery lugs and tighten.
7. After tightening the cables, evenly coat all the exposed
metal surfaces of the battery terminals and lugs with
liquid neoprene. If liquid neoprene is not available, use a
light coating of anti-corrosion grease or other non-
adhesive sealant. Do not let anything come between the
mating surfaces of the lugs and terminals.
WARNING: Risk of chemical burn
Avoid chemicals coming from the battery to contact with skin.
Wear protective clothing like proper gloves and goggles.
CAUTION: Battery damage
Take care not to allow any washing solution to enter the battery
filling caps, as any contamination into a cell will chemically
damage it.
