Operation
If there are many protrusions and depressions in the wall, move the unit
parallel to the wall and follow the measuring results in the display. This way it
is easier to accurately find the distance.
Working in the Dual Mode
In this mode you work with the target unit to measure distances from 1 to 75
meters. To measure there longer distances, an infrared beam is emitted from
the distance meter towards the target unit. When the target detects the beam,
it emits an ultrasonic signal back to the unit. The unit detects the signal and
then calculates the distance from the elapsed time. Unlike the single mode,
there is no reflection of the ultrasonic signal with the connected sources of
error such as rough walls and the likes.
Set the switch (1) on the unit to .
Turn on the target unit by setting the switch 15 up to the “ON” position. The
LED (13) slowly flashes to indicate the function of the target unit.
For a quick test of functionality hold the units at least 1 m apart and press
the buttons 10 or 11 (
or
). The measured distance is displayed.
Now place the target unit at the end of the distance you intend to measure.
Use an elevated base (e.g. table, fence post) or use a tripod. The target has
a tripod socket (16) on its base.
Set the target unit up vertically and with the sensors towards the position of
the measuring unit.
Point the unit towards the target unit.
To take a measurement, press the button
or
(measuring from the
front or the rear end of the unit). In the left of the display the unit counts up
from 1 to 4, after that the result is displayed. If “ERROR” is displayed, please
repeat the measurement.
