1.3Product Purpose and Description
Westell's INTELIPORT I, Model SDS5486LN Issue 4, provides
an interface between a 4Ćwire facility and a 2Ćwire or 4Ćwire data
modem. As a member of Westell's family of Intelligent Network
Channel Terminating Equipment (INCTE), the SDS5486LN
provides all the functions of a standard DST but with additional
features such as remote testing and alignment capability. The
SDS5486LN contains an onĆboard microprocessor and preciĆ
sion oscillator circuits. These circuits allow comprehensive

remote alignment and testing of INTELIPORT when activated
from a Serving Test Center (STC).

Precision oscillator generates test tones during testing
and alignment.

Terminating impedance option of 150, 600, or 1200 Ohms
to match the impedance of the 4Ćwire facility (switchĆseĆ

Remote (manual) 3 or 4 tone alignment capability.
