Potential risks during operation
Hot surfaces
There is a risk of burn if any of the interior parts of the cavity (Figure 1.3, item 11), the inside of the appliance door or any
parts that are or have been inside the oven during cooking are touched. Ensure the personal protective equipment detailed
at the beginning of this section is used.
Hot steam / vapor
Escaping hot steam and vapor can cause scalding to face and hands. When opening the door and when cooling the cavity
using the ‘Cool
Down’ function, step back from
the appliance to avoid the hot steam and vapor escaping through the open
door.
Excessive microwave energy
Precautions to avoid burns from excessive microwave energy:
•
Do not attempt to operate the appliance oven with the door open, since open-door operation can result in harmful
exposure to microwave energy. It is important not to defeat or tamper with the safety interlocks.
•
Do not place any object between the oven front face and the appliance door or allow soil or cleaner residue to
accumulate on sealing surfaces.
•
Do not operate the appliance if it is damaged. It is particularly important that the oven door closes properly and
that there is no damage to the door, door hinges, door seals and sealing surfaces.
•
The oven should not be adjusted or repaired by anyone except properly qualified service personnel.
