Wiring of the positive PV voltage input
Connect the positive polarity of the PV inputs to the X2 connector pin marked with a
plus (+) sign (the other pin in X2 is not internally connected). The wire cross section
is irrelevant as this wire will virtually carry no current.
NOTICE
This product is not meant to measure PV voltage only but voltage and
current, therefore it will not measure voltage correctly if no negative wires
are connected to X1 and/or X4.
3.3 Wiring of digital inputs
The digital inputs of this equipment are floating with regards to the rest of the circuit.
This is accomplished by means of dedicated optocouplers which provide a double
insulation barrier between the digital inputs and the PV-side terminals. From the user
perspective this means digital inputs without ground loops and full safety even under
severe surges.
This product includes two digital inputs (connector X3) designed to code 0 V
dc
as logical
“0” and 24 V
dc
as logical “1”. Since these inputs are galvanically isolated from the
internal circuitry it is possible to use the same 24 V
dc
power supply that powers the
Transclinic as a voltage source for the digital inputs. When wiring the cables to the
digital inputs pay attention to the polarity signs marked on the X3 connector.
