Connect the male end of the power cord to a suitable wall outlet.

Press the On/Off switch, on the front door, to power-on the detector.
Result:
The detector runs a series of startup diagnostic tests while the lamp LED blinks
green. The lamp LED shows steady green when the lamp is ignited.
