Booster Batteries, 2-Battery Application

CAUTION: Before boost-starting the carrier,
shut it down properly to prevent unexpected
machine movement when the engine starts.
CAUTION: An explosive gas is produced while
batteries are in use or being charged. Keep
flames or sparks away from the battery area.
Make sure that the batteries are charged in a
well-ventilated area.
IMPORTANT: Always disconnect the controller
before using booster batteries, otherwise
severe controller damage could occur.
1.
Turn off the carrier main switch and disconnect the
cable between the two carrier batteries (A).
2.
Disconnect the power and CAN connection from the
PC.
3.
Remove the 15 A power fuse from the controller
battery cable.
4.
Connect one end of the positive cable to the positive
terminal of the machine batteries (A), and the other
end to the positive terminal of the booster batteries
(B).
5.
Connect one end of the negative cable to the
negative terminal of the booster batteries. Connect
the other end of the negative cable to the machine
frame, as far away from the machine batteries as
possible.
6.
Start the engine.
7.
Wait several minutes before disconnecting the end
of the negative cable from the machine frame.
Then, disconnect the other end of the negative
cable from the negative terminal of the booster
batteries.
8.
Disconnect the positive cable from the booster
batteries and machine batteries.
9.
Re-connect the cable between the two carrier
batteries (A).
10. Refit the 15 A fuse. Connect the power and CAN
connection back to the PC.

Using booster batteries
Booster batteries are used if the carrier batteries are too
flat or cold to start the carrier normally.
