5. SCREEN DEFINITIONS - DSX Models:
Additionally to the previous standard definitions the DSX model software contains the
following, reference Fig. 2:
Module Configuration Information
Module settings for S/N xxxxxxxx:
4 mA Temp. (
C): 0.0
: Shows the equivalent current setting for the 4-mA output in
F or
C. Temperature scale is changed under the “Settings” menu. The 4-mA value must be
a minimum of 10
C (18
F) below the 20-mA setting.
20 mA Temp. (
C): 100.0
: Shows the current setting for the 20-mA output in
F or
C.
Temperature scale is changed under the “Settings” menu. The 20-mA value must be a
minimum of 10
C (18
F) above the 4-mA setting.
Burnout Setting: 22.0 Upscale (22.0 mA)
: User selectable setting for fault indication to
drive the current to a low or high setting in the event a sensor gets disconnected, or
opens. The current values are selected to comply with the NAMUR recommendation
NE43 (18.01.1994). The two settings available from the drop down menu are:
Upscale (22.0 mA)
– drives the current to 22.0 mA if fault is detected.
Downscale
(3.5 mA)
– drives the current to 3.5 mA if fault is detected.
Calibration Information
Module Calibration Data
4-20 mA Cal. Slope:
0.000244 - Displays slope correction for D/A converter.
4-20 mA Cal. Offset:
-0.00925
– Displays offset correction for D/A converter.
Select Calibration to Perform
: For DSX models, there is a third option on the “Select
Calibration to Perform” drop down box that allows the user to perform calibration of the
current loop output. Select the “4-20 mA Calibration” and click the “Calibrate” button. A
calibration routine with step by step instructions will take you through the calibration
process.
4-20 mA Calibration
– Performs calibration of the electronics for the 4-20 mA current
output. This calibration requires a precision current meter with resolution of 1 microamp
or less.
