The example commissioning described below requires correct setup of the
fieldbus node hardware and SMI line, as well as proper function.

Preparation
In the example given here, the fieldbus node consists of the following WAGO-I/O-
SYSTEM components:

The
753-1630
SMI master module in the fieldbus node is powered via the power
jumper contact.
The fieldbus node is ready for use when the following requirements are met:
•
At least one SMI slave is connected as a subscriber to connections I+ und
I− of the SMI master module.
•
The fieldbus node is connected to the PC via a RJ-45 cable. The network
card of the PC is set according to the address range for the fieldbus node.
As an alternative, connection can also be made via the serial service
interface of the controller.
Use the WAGO USB communication cable (Item No. 750-923) to set up a
physical connection via serial service interface.
•
The power supply for the fieldbus node is on.
•
The top and bottom end positions of the SMI drives is set.
