14. Face plate order no. 24482
14.1 Operation
The face plate is used to hold short workpieces and is suitable for the hollowing out of items such as plates and
bowls, for example.
1. Prepare the workpiece in such a way that the face plate (17) has a level contact surface.
2. Place the face plate (17) on the contact surface and secure the workpiece using a suitable screw through the 5
mm-diameter through hole in the shaft
(Figure 1)
. The screw should be located at the center of the workpiece
to be processed so as to avoid imbalances when doing so.
3. Turn the threaded pins (17.1) against the workpiece tight enough to ensure that it is driven and does not slip.
For workpieces with a diameter of 50 mm or less, select the inner hole circle. For workpieces with a diameter
of more than 50 mm, select the outer hole circle.
4. Clamp the face plate (17) in the drive unit.
Alternatively, you can remove the threaded pins (17.1) and secure the workpiece through the threaded
holes with suitable screws
(Figure 2)
.
When turning with the face plate, ensure that you do not hit the clamping screws with the turning tool!
