Useful tips for troubleshooting
If problems occur during sewing, read how to proceed in the respective chapters of this manual. If the
problem persists even when operating the machine correctly, refer to the following table to locate and
rectify the cause of error. If the error cannot be fixed, please contact the technical service.

Uneven stitch pattern
Threads are not threaded correctly.
Incorrect combination of
needle/thread/fabric.
Cutting width does not match the
material.
Rethread the thread tensions; put the
lifter lever up.

Upper thread breaks
The eye of the needle is sharp-edged.
The hook is damaged.
Insert a new needle.
Contact the customer service.
Skipped or faulty stitches The needle is not inserted correctly.
Incorrect needle in use.
Incorrect combination of
needle/thread/fabric.
Threads are not threaded correctly.
Lint and dust under the needle plate.
Insert the needle correctly.
Insert the correct needle.

Rethread the upper and lower threads.
Clean the area under the needle plate.
Skipped or faulty stitches
with stretch material
Stretch material sewn with a normal
needle.
Insert a stretch needle.
Fabric is puckering
Incorrect combination of
needle/thread/fabric.
Needle thread tension too tight.
Differential feed* not set to “1.0” or
according to the fabric.

Fabric is not fed correctly Presser foot pressure too low.
Threads, lint or dust under the needle
plate.
Move the presser foot pressure
adjusting screw into its normal
position.
Clean the area under the needle plate.
Needle breaks
Incorrect combination of
needle/thread/fabric.
Needle too thin for the material.
Fabric is pulled too strongly.

Switch to a needle size suitable for the
material.
While sewing, guide the fabric without
pulling it.
Loud noise during
operation
Threads, lint or dust under the needle
plate.
Machine must be oiled.
Clean the area under the needle plate.
