Changing the upper knife
• Switch off the machine at the main switch.
• Open the side cover and the front flap.
• Deactivate the upper knife.
• Unscrew the hexagon screw and remove
the upper knife.
• Insert the new upper knife into the guide
of the knife holder and tighten the
hexagon screw slightly.
Setting the upper knife
• Turn the upper knife to the cutting position
(upwards).
• Turn the hand wheel (anti-clockwise) until
the upper knife is in the lowest position. In
this position, the front edge of the upper
knife should overlap with the cutting edge
of the lower knife by approx. 0.8 to
1.5 mm.
The upper knife can be moved up or down
for adjustment. Now, tighten the hexagon
screw.
• Close the side cover and the front flap.
The lower knife is tipped with extremely
resistant carbide and only needs to be
replaced after a long period of use. Both
knives can be damaged e.g. by sewing over
pins. It is recommended to have the knives
exchanged by a customer service centre.
