7 Cleaning, Maintenance, and Disposal
7.1 Cleaning Instructions
WARNING
Electrical shock hazard if water enters the simulator
components
If water enters any of the simulator components, there is the risk of death or
serious injury through electrical shock. Further, the simulator might get dam-
aged through short circuits and resulting heat.
f
Make sure that water does not enter any of the simulator components.
f Disconnect all simulator components from power before attempting to
clean them with a damp cloth.
f Make sure that the simulator does not get wet while cleaning surrounding
areas (e.g. while wet mopping the floor).
NOTICE
Possible damage to tracking system components
due to aggressive cleaning agents or scratches
If you use aggressive cleaning agents or rough cloths (e. g. scouring pads) to
clean the tracking system components (

Fig. 42 on page 49), the surfaces
of the tracking system may get permanently damaged and the simulator may
not function properly anymore.
f Normally, it is not necessary to clean the tracking system components.

If cleaning should become necessary, do not use aggressive cleaning
agents or cloths that cause scratches.
f
Only use a soft a soft, lint-free cloth to clean or dust off the surfaces.
f Do not apply pressure when cleaning the surfaces.
The simulator requires no ongoing cleaning. If, nevertheless, cleaning should be
required, observe the following instructions.
• Do not use solvents or aggressive cleaning agents. They can damage lacquer
finishes and plastic parts or make them brittle.
• Do not use sharp-edged or potentially scratching objects or other tools to clean
the device (e.g. scouring pads).
• Dust off all surfaces using only a soft, lint-free cloth whenever necessary.
• To clean more heavily soiled areas, use a slightly damp (not wet), soft cotton
cloth.
