Inspection

Inspect the engine flywheel for the following:

• Cracks other surface damage (1)

• Damaged ring gear teeth (2)

• Loose or improperly positioned ring gear

The ring gear has an interference fit onto the engine flywheel
and the ring gear should be positioned completely flat against
the flange of the engine flywheel.

Installation

Install flywheel on crankshaft studs.

Install engine coupler,

Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal and Housing

Remove

Remove engine from boat. See

Engine Removal and Installa-

tion Workshop Manual.

Remove engine coupler, See

Remove flywheel, See

Remove the crankshaft rear oil seal from the crankshaft rear oil
seal housing.

Insert a suitable tool into the access notches and then carefully pry
the crankshaft rear oil seal from the crankshaft rear oil seal housing.

Discard the crankshaft rear oil seal.
