SYMPTOM: Freeze-up due to extended freeze period.
POSSIBLE CAUSE POSSIBLE REMEDY
Freezer pressure switch setting too low. Adjust freezer pressure switch, or replace if
defective. See FIGURE 9-3, Section 9.
Water tank drain valve (39) open or leaking, or
make-up water float valve (12) stuck open. Close valve, repair, or replace as necessary.
Thawing gas solenoid valve (18) leaking
through during the freeze cycle. Check the manual opening stem to make sure
it is in the automatic position (stem screwed
out). Check for leakage through the valve by
sound and temperature difference. Close the
stop valve (90) at the receiver to confirm
suspicion of leakage. Repair or replace the
valve as needed.
Float switch stuck or failed in the closed
position. Check to make sure the float switch is opening
and closing.
“A” valve (20) stuck open Check to make sure the “A” Valve is not in
the manual open position. Disassemble valve
and inspect for debris that could hold the
valve open.
