Mobile Extension
Application
A project manager at a mid-size company is required to be in many meetings and locations
within the company throughout the day; however, she is also required to be readily available to
respond to demands from multiple organizations within the company. The current solution for
many callers is to opt out to the operator, have the project manager paged, and if she is
unavailable, be sent into voice mail.
Using the Mobile Extension feature, the project manager can be contacted instantly when a caller
reaches her station, whether she is at his desk, down the hall, or out of the office.
Mobile extension allows an external number, in this case a cell phone, to ring at the same time a
call rings to the station. This allows for instant connectivity with the project manager if she is
available.
Calls can be originated from the cell phone via the Telenium
IP
system. The project manager can
call into the Telenium
IP
, and is allowed to originate outbound and intercom calls from the cell
phone through the Telenium
IP
’s lines. The calls appear to come from the project manager’s
extension, not from an external number.
