VDC1604 VISTA DOME CONTROLLER
ACCESSING THE DOME CAMERA MENU
For most domes, it is possible to program their features from the NPX/KBD/J3De via their menu structure. To enter dome
menus, press and hold the dome menu key (
) for at least two seconds. On non-Vista domes, the dome menu key LED
will remain illuminated when you have finished programming the dome. To ensure correct control of the dome, this LED
must be switched off by pressing the dome menu key for at least two seconds.

The Escape
key can be used to return to the previous menu or exit the dome cameras menu system.
STORING A PRESET
This operation allows you to store a camera position as a preset. The VDC1604 can access up to 255 presets, depending
on the dome specification (Vista PowerDome has 128 presets). Presets can be called directly from the keyboard or used
as Views and View Sequences when programmed in the menu system.
1. Select a monitor.
2. Select a camera that has telemetry functionality.
3. Use the joystick and lens controls to manoeuvre the camera to the desired position.
4. To store the position as a preset, press the Function
Fn
key followed by a number for the preset (1-255), then press
the Preset
key.
RECALLING A PRESET
This operation allows you to recall a preset camera position directly from the system keyboard.
1. Select a monitor.
2. Select the camera
3. Enter the number for the preset (1-255), then press the Preset
key.
STORING A LEARN TOUR
This operation allows you to store up to three Learn tours of one minute, or one tour of three minutes on the Vista
PowerDome. Note that the three minute Learn Tour can only be programmed from the PowerDome menu. On other
domes that support Learn tours, it allows one learn tour of the prescribed length to be stored. A Learn tour remembers the
exact movements of a dome (PTZ) performed by the operator for later recall.
1. Select a monitor.
2. Select a camera that has telemetry functionality.
3. To store the Learn tour, press the Function key (
Fn
) followed by the tour number (1-3). Next, press the Learn tour key
(
) then follow the on-screen instructions.
