Removing a CineMag II
The Phantom CineMag II clips into the MagMate of the
Phantom as shown in the illustration to the left.
All the power and data connections are made between
the pins on the MagMate and the pads of the Phantom
CineMag II. Please be careful when attaching or removing
the Phantom CineMag II that you don’t damage the pins
on the camera. Avoid dragging the tabs on the front of the
Phantom CineMag II across the pins.
To remove the Phantom CineMag II, pull the red tab on the
back of the camera and lift the Phantom CineMag II, being
careful not to damage the pins on the camera.
Saving from a CineMag II
In case damage to the pins occurs, Vision
Research sells replacement pin-arrays that are
easily installed in the field.
Attaching a CineMag II
Vision Research recommends that you save the clips from
a Phantom CineMag II as Cine Raw files, even though it
is possible to save them in a number of file formats. Cine
Raw files not only preserve all the metadata of the clip
(such as frame rate, shutter speed, timestamps, etc.)
it will also be the fastest and best-quality format.
