• For strips of up to 100 mm (4"), in lower channel G

(Fig. 4) of guide D. The strip width in this case will be
read from left side G (Fig. 3) of index E.

• For strips wider than 100 mm (4"), on upper wing H

(Fig. 4) of guide D. The strip width in this case will be
read from right side H (Fig. 3) of index E.

3.2. REGULATING THE CUT OF
STRATIFIED LAMINATES

With the machine switched off, lift

protective cover A (Fig. 1).

Preliminary adjustment: Place blades I1-I2 tangentially
(Fig. 5) using knob J (Fig. 5). Check that separator wheels
M (Fig. 5) are in their lower position (Fig. 5). Close cover
A (Fig. 1) and start up the cutter by activating switch K
(Fig. 1). Then feed in the sheet to be cut in the position
and direction shown (Fig. 2).
Separator wheels M (Fig. 1 and 5) located behind blades
I1-I2 (Fig. 1 and 5) will bend the sheet where the cut
was made. Then exit chute N (Fig. 1) will separate the
cut strip from the remaining sheet.

Final adjustment: To cut stratified laminates, readjust
blades I1-I2 (Fig. 6), separating them slightly once again
by means of knob J (Fig. 6).
To cut this type of material, the pressure of the blades on
the sheet must be only just enough to cut the decorative
layer of the laminate, not its entire width. This will provide
a cut that is clean and free of splinters.

If the sheet becomes jammed during

cutting, activate reversing device L (Fig.

1) and the sheet will move backwards.

Then stop the machine by activating

switch K (Fig. 1). Lift cover A (Fig. 1)

remove guide D (Fig. 1) and clean any

splinters or small chips that might have

caused the sheet to be jammed.

Adjusting the pressure of drawing-in rollers

Rollers O (Fig. 8) drive the sheet through the machine.
Before the cutter leaves the factory, the pressure of these
rollers is adjusted for cutting soft materials and stratified
laminates of up to 1 mm thick. To cut stratified laminates
of a thickness greater than 1 mm, there may be a need
to increase the pressure of rollers O (Fig. 8). To do this,
lift cover A (Fig. 1) and then regulate springs P (Fig. 8),
loosening nuts Q (Fig. 8) and turning stud bolts R (Fig. 8).

3.3 REGULATING THE CUT OF

VENEER AND SOFT MATERIALS

With the machine switched off, lift protective cover

A (Fig. 1).
Adjusting the cut: Using knob J, place blades I1-I2 (Fig.
7) so that they overlay one another slightly, making it
possible for the entire thickness of the sheet to be cut
when it passes between them.
Remove separator wheels M (Fig. 7) from the work area,
by rotating lever S (Fig. 7) to the position shown.
Adjusting the pressure of the drawing-in rolls: The pres-
sure of the drawing-in rollers for cutting these materials
is adjusted before the cutter leaves the factory. This
means that, unless the original pressure has varied, no
adjustment will be necessary for cutting thick stratified
laminates. However, should this have taken place, the
initial pressure of the rollers must be restored.

4. STARTING UP THE CUTTER

Once the aforementioned adjustments have been made,
the cutter is ready for use. Activate switch K (Fig. 1) to
start up the machine and guide in the sheet to be cut
in the position and direction shown (Fig. 2).

5. NOISE LEVEL

The measured noise level values are emission levels and
do not necessarily reflect a safe working level. Factors
influencing the real noise exposure level experienced by
the operator include the exposure duration, characte-
ristics of the location, other sources of emission, such
as the number of machines installed, etc.
The noise from this machine has been measured according
to regulation  ISO-DIS 230-5. The noise level at the work
station may exceed 85 dB(A). In this case, the machine
operator should take protective measures against noise.
Other factors that reduce noise exposure are:

• Selecting the correct tool.
• Adequate tool and machine maintenance.
• The use of appropriate hearing protection systems.

6. GUARANTEE

All VIRUTEX machines are guaranteed for 12 months
from the date of supply, excluding any damage which
is a result of incorrect use or of natural wear and tear
on the machine. All repairs should be carried out by the
official VIRUTEX technical assistance service.

7. RECYCLING ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT

Never dispose of electrical equipment with domestic was-
te. Recycle equipment, accessories and packaging in ways
that minimise any adverse effect on the environment.
Comply with the current regulations in your country.
Applicable in the European Union and in European
countries with selective waste collection systems:
If this symbol appears on the product or in the accom-
panying information, at the end of the product’s useful
life it must not be disposed of with other domestic waste.
